Talent gap holds back intelligent CNC machining

At present, the intelligent CNC machining market is booming, and the Chinese government is also actively guiding and promoting the improvement of CNC machining technology. In the 'Made in China 2025' strategic plan, intelligent processing is listed as one of the ten key development areas. At the same time, a number of policies such as the 'Intelligent Manufacturing Equipment Industry Plan' and 'Robot Industry Development Plan (2016-2020)' have also been introduced one after another, further strengthening the development trend of the machining industry.

However, the three armies are ready to go, but the coach is hard to find. Under the situation that the overall development trend of my country's intelligent CNC machining is improving, the huge talent gap has become a fatal injury to the development of the machining industry. In the future, how to cultivate a professional R&D and application team that understands intelligent CNC machining technology and form a relatively complete intelligent machining industry chain will be an important issue for future industry development.

According to the 'Manufacturing Talent Development Planning Guide' issued by the government, the talent gap in my country's CNC machining industry is expected to reach 3 million in 2020, and will expand to 4.5 million in 2025. At the same time, according to the 'People's Daily' report in January 2018, the talent gap of my country's intelligent CNC machining technology has also exceeded 5 million, and the ratio of supply and demand is only 1:10. Many machining enterprises are worried about the need to make intelligent transformation, but they cannot find matching talents in the market, so they have to attract the attention of the industry.

However, it is not because my country does not have a sufficient number of intelligent CNC machining talents, but most of them are concentrated in the field of theoretical research and development. On the contrary, what enterprises need are robot application talents and service talents. Therefore, the current talent problem in my country mainly involves two aspects. On the one hand, the talent training required by similar machining enterprises is insufficient; on the other hand, the phenomenon of CNC machining technology talent loss is too serious.
