Factors Affecting Machining Hardness

by:Jingte     2022-09-15

Machining refers to the process of changing the dimensions or properties of a workpiece through a mechanical device. According to the different processing methods, it can be divided into cutting processing and pressure processing. So, what are the factors that affect the machining hardness of CNC machining manufacturers?

Influenced by processing material. The raw material of the product is an important factor that directly affects the hardness of the part. When the user selects the processing material, the hardness of the part is basically determined. If the hardness of the processed material is relatively small, the plasticity will be relatively large. Before the parts are processed, the engineering and technical personnel of both parties are generally required to connect and communicate.

Influence from tool shape. To realize the conversion of blanks into parts, machined tools are indispensable. The rake angle, edge fillet and tool face wear of the tool will have a great impact on the hardened layer on the surface of the part; the hardness and Depth also increases as the rake angle of the tool decreases, and wear on the cutting edge and back.

The effect of cutting amount, changes in feed rate and cutting speed will also affect the hardness of the part during machining. As the economical speed of the tool increases, so does the surface hardness. If the cutting speed of the tool is increased, the contact time of the tool with the machined workpiece around the part will be shortened, the probability of plastic deformation will be reduced, and the hard layer and hardness will also be reduced.
