Design experience of metal wire drawing die for spare parts processing

For drawing dies, especially deep drawing and multi-drawing dies, many business units of the die factory are reluctant to quote and accept orders. Since it is often impossible to draw molds exactly as they are theoretically, there are many things that are true in theory, that is, they fail to achieve the expected test results, which requires multiple commissioning by the assembler and a significant amount of time spent debugging the mold . The following is a summary of some practical drawing mold design experience for reference:

One, material selection

Usually, the material of spare parts processing drawn parts is the steel mill brand specified by the customer, but the same material may have different models, for example, cold rolled sheet is divided into 08Al, 08, 08F, 10, 15 and 20 steels. If the selection is not right, it may not be possible to design a qualified product.

second. open blank material

Most of the regular and simple-shaped rotary stretching products processed by spare parts belong to non-sparse stretching, which can be directly determined according to the principle of constant area before and after stretching. If it is a very complex shape drawing, sometimes the material can flow badly and thin. Usually, it is impossible to accurately calculate its opening size. It makes predictions via 3D extensions (CAE analysis and simulation via AutoForm), which are also called examples.

three. Tensile calculation factor

The stretch factor is very important. Parts Machining Drawing parts need to be drawn in several steps to ensure there are no cracks, wrinkles and other issues. The stretch factor formula should be used for the calculation. It is one of the most important process parameters in cartographic process accounting. Often used to determine drawing order and timing.

However, the stretch factor is not fixed. There are many factors that affect the stretching coefficient m, including material type, thickness, type of tensile structure, stretching time, stretching speed, too large arc size of the stretching insert, etc. However, it is usually possible to look up tables and perform roughing calculations.

Four. Expanding common test questions

Stretched parts often experience problems such as cracking and wrinkling during mold commissioning. If there are tension cracks in the machining of spare parts, the problem of material flow needs to be considered. You can apply lubricating oil on the master mold (not on the master mold), or you can apply a film of 0.013--0.018mm on the side of the product close to the master mold (that is, the winding film commonly used by fitters). .

'More wrinkles, fewer cracks,' according to this method to judge the flow of materials. Adjustment plan: adjust the pressure of the blank fixing ring, increase the draw bead, change the excess radius of the arc of the upper and lower die inserts, and cut the machining opening on the workpiece, etc.

In a nutshell, drawn parts are the type of mold with a high technical content. This is a challenge to design, handle, assemble and debug and requires great care.

The company has 16 quality inspection channels, strictly controls the feed from the source, and conducts a serious review of the design of the stamping die. Before the box is sealed and shipped, 16 tests will be performed to ensure you are satisfied with the results.
